The 2018 Rensei Taikai was held on Friday 30th November and Saturday 1st December at the Jiushin Kan in Luqa. This year’s event was held in the memory of Allan Tattersall Hanshi and his style of Jujutsu, Myo Shin Ryu. It is worth mentioning that Christian and Roderick Bajada were the first students of Allan Tattersall Hanshi who were awarded Menkyo certification by the Soke himself, officially numbered 1 and 2.
During the Koshu Kai (training seminar) held on Friday for the adult trainees and on Saturday for the juniors, Christian and Roderick Bajada Renshi instructed and guided the students throughout a series of some of Tattersall Hanshi’s trademark techniques. At the end of the training seminar, the students present were gifted with a token from Jiushin Kan Malta commemorating this special occasion.
The Endbu Taikai (demonstrations gathering) took place on Saturday. This was an occasion for both junior and adult students to showcase their commendable martial abilities in Jiushin Ryu Jujutsu and Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido. Soon after the demonstrations, the most outstanding and most promising Martial Artists of Jiushin Kan Malta were honoured accordingly in an awards ceremony and presented with a commemorative medal or trophy and official certificate.
Jiushin Kan Malta would like to thank all participants for making this year’s Rensei Taikai another remarkable success.
