On the 1st of July 2013 in Kyoto, Japan - Before their departure to Malta, the Brothers Bajada were called upon by Tesshin Hamada Hanshi, Chairman of the International Division of Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (Greater Japan Martial Virtues Society - General Corporation), for a private meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Hamada Hanshi bestowed upon the brothers the official Dojo name: Jiushin Kan – Hall of The True High Ideals of Yawara (Yawara being another historical name for Jujutsu) - with an official private ceremony, where for the first time ever, Hamada Hanshi presented the brothers with his Kodachi Bokuto with the official Kanji inscription of Jiushin Kan imprinted on one side and the motto ‘Shin Ki Tai Ittoh’ (When Mind, Body, Spirit are One, you will prevail), on the other. Both inscriptions were printed by Hamada Hanshi himself for the occasion. It was established that the style of Jujutsu taught at the Jiushin Kan Dojo of Malta shall now be officially called Jiushin Ryu Jujutsu - (School of the True High Ideals of Yawara).
The Special Bokuto is placed in the centre of the Kamiza in the Jiushin Kan Dojo, where it serves as a symbol of the mind set, path and the Jiushin Ryu training methods which are executed in the Jiushin Kan under the guidance of both brothers.
